Founded in 2001 as an educational charity, Nottingham Arts Theatre is the city’s premiere Community Theatre which hosts a varied programme of productions from local schools, colleges, universities, drama societies, musical theatre groups, dance schools and professional touring companies and individual artistes.

We are a small independent amateur theatre, located in the centre of Nottingham. The Theatre is owned and operated by The Lace Market Theatre Trust Ltd., which is a registered charity. The Theatre has a good reputation for its varied programme of modern and traditional drama, comedy and occasional musical.

We provide a wide-ranging, mixed programme of amateur and professional performances including jazz, folk and popular music gigs, drama and dance and more traditional community-produced drama, and we are the official home to the ever-popular Bonington Players and many more.

Based on University Park campus, next to Highfields Park, Lakeside Arts is the University of Nottingham’s public arts and heritage programme. From family day trips to evenings out, from stimulating experiences to relaxing afternoons, from a stroll in our beautiful parkland to a delicious bite – there’s something for everyone at Lakeside.
